Who is Omo Owo?

He is not a career politician. He did not spend his life waiting for a political title. He spent it building.

Alhaji AbdulHameed Femi Omotayo, known across Ijebu-land as Omo Owo, Son of the People, is the PDP candidate for the Ogun East Senatorial District in the 2027 general election.

He spent more than thirty years in Nigeria's Oil and Gas sector, building enterprises, creating livelihoods, and serving his community quietly, without announcement or ambition for public office. He is a businessman who understands what it takes to make something work in this country. And now, he has chosen to dedicate his experience to serving and building Ogun East.

He won the PDP Ogun East Senatorial primary on 20 May 2026 and collected his Certificate of Return from the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja.

He is a devoted Muslim who hosts the annual Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) festival at his family home each year. He built a church in honour of his late mother. His family contains both faiths, living together in love and mutual respect.
